Which Slovenian region was least developed until the earthquake in the 70s? Kozjansko, but that’s our advantage! Because of this, our natural heritage is fascinatingly green and perfect for hiking and cycling tours. We will be staying in a village that has already been proclaimed as the best looking village in Slovenia twice and where there are the most alluring panoramic views of all of Kozjansko.
On Rifnik we can find very well-preserved ruins from the New Stone Age and other later historical eras. The old town of Celje offers not only the castle of Celje but also magnificent historical stories. Did you know that Romeo and Juliet were not the most passionate lovers in history? The title should actually belong to Friderik II., the prince of Celje, and his lover Veronika Deseniška. 😃
We will visit all these places and more by bikes and on foot, meanwhile we will also get a taste of ecologically made local food and wine as well as of course water and beer; we will visit the first beer fountain in the world. Furthermore we will also take part in the holiday of Kozjansko’s Apple, which celebrates ecological production of food, all while being accompanied by good music and laughter.
